The pool of life and "Elements" aerial dance show is a collaboration between UK and Chinese artists. Musicians and dancers came together for a programme of events at the Royal Court Theatre. Joe worked closely alongside the project director Jacqueline Jones to produce branding and programme guides for the shows. From photography and typography through to layout the work was very enjoyable and a great opening into a world that he hadn't previously been exposed to.

Joe studied Computer Animation & Special Effects at University of Bradford. Since working as a trainee forensic analyst Joe has started his career in animation and sfx, which has kept him pretty busy working on TV commercials, music videos and interactive online animated goodness. “It's been like having a 3 year long birthday party!”
Influenced by all sorts, too much to list really but mainly pop-art, record sleeves and family members (not necessarily in that order). Joe loves to watch people, pick up characteristics from the strange things they do and then animate it. He is a great fan of Pixar and Studio Ghibli and has recently been sucked in by the character design of Kung Fu Panda.
When he gets the chance, Joe loves to ski and snowblade, he also DJs at a monthly event in Liverpool called Canvas (which is very cool). A big fan of playing video games, his lovely wife, “She's great!” and God “Learning how to be a bit more like him each day.”
His most memorable piece of work was a personal project called "Journey with Ernie" an animated music video about his Grandad. He falls asleep in front of the TV, starts an earthquake and breakdances in slippers - lots of fun! A favorite because it is a very personal piece of work and he produced the music for it as well as animating it solo.
